Local Anglers Take Part In Opening Of Trout Season

Cold weather and bitter wind didn’t stop the majority of area anglers from enjoying opening day of Trout season on April 1. Three cousins from Jamestown caught seven assorted trout in Randolph on their first day out. They returned to their favorite fishing spot the next day, along Little Conewango Creek behind the fire hall, and caught several more, including a nice, 14 1/2-inch Rainbow Trout. Shown, from left, are cousins Devon Hamby, Keith Gowan and James Rogers, who come to Randolph every year on opening day.
