Stockton Man Jailed On Rape Charge
A Stockton man has been remanded to jail on a rape charge following an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Leland Breese, 34, of Route 380, was charged after deputies looked into “suspicious activity” that occurred at a residence in the town of Stockton. Police said Breese allegedly had sexual intercourse with a victim without consent.
The date of the incident was not released by the Sheriff’s Office.
A warrant was issued by a Stockton Town judge, and Breese was taken into custody Friday at a residence in the city of Jamestown. He was charged with first-degree rape, a Class B felony.
Breese was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear back in court at a later date to answer the charge.
No further information regarding the incident was made available. First-degree rape carriers a sentence of 5 to 25 years in prison if convicted.
