Morgante Resigns As Chautauqua Striders Interim Executive Director

Peter Morgante has resigned his position as interim executive director of Chautauqua Striders, according to a news release from the organization’s board.

Morgante joined Striders after serving as superintendent of the Pine Valley Central School District. Board members credit Morgante with developing new program resources, streamlining the program’s marketing and outlining athletic complex improvements.

“Pete has demonstrated his continuing commitment to the diverse student groups of our community by helping Striders through a challenging period of its long and distinguished history,” said Max Martin, acting board chair. “We wish Pete all the best in his future endeavors.”

Board members plan to hire a consultant to help Striders with interim management of the organization, strategic planning and direction, education program development and financial control until a full-time executive director is hired. According to the release, the board is taking its action so Striders can continue to operate without interruption to the youth who use its education and mentoring services.
