Termination Leads To Assault At City Business

A 42-year-old Jamestown man is facing second-degree assault charges after an incident at a city business.

Jamestown police were called to 105 Water St. at Jamestown Electro-Plating. Upon arrival, they were told an employee had been terminated and assaulted another employee. Officers were advised that Angel J. Vargas Mendoza caused facial injury to another worker and fled the area.

A short time later, Vargas Mendoza showed up to the Jamestown Police Department to turn himself in on the incident. He was taken back to the city jail where he was charged. He was being held pending arraignment.
