Jamestown firefighters doused flames inside a semi trailer at a scrap metal yard Monday. The fire was reported around noon at Ben Weitsman of Jamestown, located on West Eighth Street. Flames could be seen coming from the semi trailer along with black smoke. The department used its ladder truck to shoot water onto the fire. A portion of West Eighth Street was closed to traffic to allow firefighters to connect to a hydrant across the street from the scrap metal yard. No injuries were reported. Officers with the Jamestown Police Department also responded to the scene.
