(7:49 PM) Teresi Will Not Seek Re-Election As Mayor

Sam Teresi, the second longest serving mayor in the city’s history, will not seek re-election this year. Teresi made the announcement during a work session meeting of the Jamestown City Council on Monday.

Teresi, a Democrat, was first elected mayor in 2000 and has won re-election four times, the last coming in November 2015. He received an associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College in 1980 and a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in May 1982. He also has a master’s degree from SUNY Albany.
