(3:30 PM) Man Charged After Stealing Vehicle In City
A Salamanca man was waiting to be arraigned after reportedly stealing a car Saturday in Jamestown.
Charged was 31-year-old Tony J. Stebbins after officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded around 6:45 p.m. to 35 Barrett Ave. for a reported larceny of a car. Following an investigation, police learned Stebbins stole the car and fled the scene.
Officers found Stebbins driving the stolen car and took him into custody a short time later.
The Salamanca man was charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and is scheduled to appear in city court for arraignment.
