The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Jackson, a young, smart and athletic dog who is very loving to all the people he meets. His journey started in Texas, and the shelter was told he is a Catahoula Leopard Dog, possibly mixed with greyhound. He can easily climb fences and doesn’t like cats, but he thinks he would like to be a big lap dog. Jackson would love an active home with lots of playtime and a couch to hang with his people at night. The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open Monday through Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. or by appointment by calling 326-7297. An open house will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
