Warren Philomel Club Performs To Mozart Club

The Mozart Club was treated to an afternoon of beautiful music by the Philomel Club of Warren on Oct. 18 at The Marvin House.

To begin the afternoon, a solo flute concert was given by Nancy Palmer, who performed “Five EasyPieces” by Nino Rota, accompanied by Joan Eighmay. Following that, Ravel’s “Sonatina,” a work in three movements was played flawlessly by Ms Eighmay.

With great sensitivity , Christine Kuntz , soprano, sang “Sin tu amor” and “Malaguena,” Ms Eighmay, accompanist.

The program finished with a flute trio, consisting of Rebecca Darby, Nancy Palmer, and Denise Pearson, who performed works by Haydn, Smith and Riley.

Before the program, new members Ellie Mast of Heritage Village, Gerry, and Jo Ann Robinson of Jamestown were welcomed to the Mozart Club.

The next meeting will be Dec. 13. The group wishes all a Merry Christmas from the Mozart Chorus, at Bellinger Chapel in the First Presbyterian Church.
