So Fresh So Clean

“It looks fresh in here,” said Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi.

From the bright green walls to the glimmering Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling, the Corner Cafe shouts “fresh” and “clean” from the moment someone steps in the door.

The cafe hosted an open house on Thursday where patrons were invited to try some of their menu, including Bahn Mi sandwiches, paninis and cookies. The Corner Cafe offers healthy foods to-go, with many items already prepared for a quick stop-and-go meal option.

Other favorites include ramen bowls, rice bowls and daily specials.

James Crocitto, Reg Lenna LLC general manager, said he was excited to see so many people visit the cafe for the opening, including the mayor and others. He said the board and Kathleen Eads, Reg Lenna executive director, put their heads together and made the restaurant possible.

“Jamestown is underserved with something being open on the weekends and the ability to grab-and-go healthy food,” Crocitto said. “So, we’re open early and we’re open late.”

The restaurant offers foods that are healthy because those types of things are in demand now, he said.

“It’s good for everybody,” Crocitto said.

Teresi said he is glad the cafe is located so close to his office. The spot is located just across the street from the Jamestown Municipal Building.

“Kudos once again to the Reg,” he said. “They’re doing a terrific job on this block. Anchoring and bringing this corner back alive is essential to their plans for revitalization of the theater district.”

Teresi said he is glad to be able to get a “good cup of coffee and a mid-morning snack or a mid-afternoon snack” at the cafe.

“You can tell all I do is eat all day long,” he said. “The convinience of having something on this end of town at our finger tips is absolutely wonderful.”

The restaurant is open seven days a week. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The restaurant is located at 122 E. Third St. in Jamestown. For more information, visit reglenna.com or call 499-9174.
