LAKEWOOD — Tammy’s Nails and Tails is now offering a full range of services for pets and their owners in Lakewood.

Located in the Save-A-Lot plaza, the new “pet salon” is owned by Tammy Flippo, a certified groomer. Cats and dogs are both welcome in the shop for grooming services, she said.

Flippo said she had previously been grooming pets out of her home, but decided opening a shop would be beneficial. The shop offers a variety of services, including painted nails. She said she is not limited to a certain size dog or cat, but works with both large and small animals.

“I just want to groom,” she said with a smile.

For the past few years, Flippo has been focusing on grooming animals because it is something she enjoys doing. She has worked at zoos and with veterinarians in the past as well. In the future, she is interested in working with the Chautauqua County Humane Society to groom some of their animals as well.

Flippo is currently Red Cross Certified for animal CPR and first aid. Another service that sets Tammy’s Nails and Tails apart is the pick up and delivery option she offers. She had wanted to make her shop mobile, but realized picking up animals and dropping them off after was a more convenient arrangement.

Flippo said she would like to thank Nephi Electric, NuWood General Contractors and George’s Heating and Cooling for making her shop a comfortable, bright and functional place to be.

The pet salon is located at 169 W. Fairmount Ave. in Suite C.

“I always tell everyone I’m facing the movie theatre,” Flippo said.
