Phillip Baker To Speak Sunday

The Fluvanna Community Historical Society is hosting speaker Phillip Baker of Fluvanna on Sunday at 6 p.m. He will be speaking on some the early history of Fluvanna. One subject will be about the Apple Inn when his family owned it. The public is invited to come hear about some early history of the area. The program will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave. Ext., in Jamestown.

Hurlbut To Hold Service Sunday

The Hurlbut Memorial Community United Methodist Church, Scott and Pratt avenues, Chautauqua Institution, will offer a Service of Prayer and Healing on Sunday at 7 p.m. This service will be held every third Sunday of each month. All are invited to participate to reflect and meditate on scripture and share in a time of prayer and anointing. For more information, contact the church office at 357-4045.

Dark Horse Run will perform on Saturday in the Herman Kent Legion Post.

Railroaders To Meet Tonight

The Independent Railroaders group will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in Conduit Ministries, 120 Delaware Ave., Jamestown. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Experience the trackside sights and color of the 1960's and 1970's with vintage slides presented by Al Lafredo. Bring SAND HOUSE stories from summer railfan adventures to share. Annual membership dues of $15 must be paid at this meeting or the October meeting. St. Luke's Kayak Mass Is Sunday

St Luke's Episcopal Church will be holding a final Kayak Mass/ Canoeucharist of the summer on Sunday. Participants are invited to join the group of paddlers from 4-6 p.m. for a group excursion, which will conclude with a service of Communion on either Chautauqua or Cassadaga Lake. The event is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation.

Clerk's Office To Close Monday

The North Harmony Town Clerk's Office will be closed on Monday. The office will re-open on Tuesday.

Finance Workshop Set For Monday

The New York State Department of Financial Services will be holding a free one-hour workshop titled "Financing Your Education" on Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Prendergast Library's Fireplace Room. The one-hour workshop will include a presentation, Q&A session, as well as brochures & takeaways on several topics including grants, scholarships, loans, and filling out the FAFSA.

Lego Club To Meet Monday

ASHVILLE -- The Ashville Free Library will host LEGO Club beginning Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and continuing each first and third Monday evenings of the month.
