It is the second Sunday of May, and that means the day we honor those who have taken on the role of Mother, Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma, whether those people be Biological, Adoptive, Step, Foster, or God mothers. Let's face it … where would any of us be without our mothers? I believe last year this column posted seventy five questions that most, if not all, of us have asked our moms, probably many times in our lives, as mom took care of just about everything from the time she brought us into this world until this very day, if mom is still with us, or in conversation with mom from our place on earth to her new home in heaven.
In looking at a different way to honor moms today, I thought of maybe poetry, or a look back of memories with mother, or to talk about the wonderful smells that emanated from Mom's kitchen, or the many rides here and there she gave us, or all the loads of laundry she did, or the medical attention she gave us, or any of the other million or so things moms have done for us, but that's been done in this column probably more than once, and then it occurred to me that it might be different to honor all the moms in song today. That being said I offer the following songs to all those moms (biological, adoptive, step, foster, or God) who have taken such good care of us all these years.

I'd like to wish all the mothers of the world, all Biological, Adoptive, Step, Foster, and God mothers a very Happy Mothers' Day. Thank you for your unconditional and undying love for all of what you do for your children.
I particularly want to wish a Happy Mothers' Day to my wife Sally, my mother, Mary, and mother-in-law, Esther (hope you're both resting in peace), my daughter, Chasity, my daughter Christina, Debbie Sledz, mother of my future daughter-in-law, Erica. I extend our appreciation to my sisters Sandy and Cathy, my sisters-in-law, Ruth, Jane, Linda, Maria, Lisa, Jen, my nieces Lorri, Tracy, Cyndie, Lisa, Matty, Emily, my nieces and pet mamas, Krissie and Lisa, the Godmothers of all of my children (who held them at their baptisms), Lisa, Diane, and Chris, to all of my aunts and cousins who are mothers, either here or in heaven, to all the mothers of children Sally watches and has watched these past years (for trusting your babies with Miss/Aunt Sally). You've all made your own families, and our huge extended family and circle of friends as strong as they are today because of your devotion and dedication to all of us. I wish to ask the Lord's Blessings upon all of you today and every day. Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
