Eagles Wrestle To Win At Rich Morton Girls Invitational

SALAMANCA — Chautauqua Lake/Panama/Clymer/Brocton/Westfield/Sherman accumulated 229 points to edge Lockport (224.5), Niagara Wheatfield (205.5) and Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek (193.5) and win the Rich Morton Invitational Girls Wrestling Tournament last Friday.

The Eagles had three winners in the tournament. At 107 pounds, Kortlyn Fairbank beat teammate Tori Lombardo. At 138 pounds, Noli Paddock topped Niagara Wheatfield’s Alexa Doxey. Chloe Hosier beat Frewsburg’s Bailey Fuller at 185 pounds.

McKella Hodkin was Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s lone champion, beating Chautauqua Lake/Panama/Clymer/Brocton/Westfield/Sherman’s Lilly Hyde at 152 pounds.

Dunkirk’s lone champion was Damarielys Cruz at 100 pounds, where she beat Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s Leah Waite.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Anastazia Hale was second at 94 pounds and Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s Lindsey Bailey was second at 114 pounds while Dunkirk’s Kami McWillson was second at 132 pounds. Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s Braelynn Wicks was second at 145 pounds.

Chautauqua Lake/Panama/Clymer/Brocton/Westfield/Sherman’s Samantha Schlabach was third at 94 pounds and teammate Kassidy Benedetto was third at 100 pounds. The Eagles’ Taylor Pinzok was third at 114 pounds and Zoey Kling was third at 138 pounds. Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s Avary LeGrano was third at 152 pounds and Bryleigh Wicks was third at 185 pounds.

Fourth-place finishers included: Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Maliyah Stone (100 pounds), Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s Suzie Nebrich (138 pounds) and Dunkirk’s Gineishka Figueroa (145 pounds).
