Brown Pours In 31 As Salamanca Beats Olean To Open League Play
SALAMANCA — Salamanca finished its Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West game on a 17-2 run en route to a 62-47 victory over Olean.
“Down the stretch we played great defense that turned into transition on offense,” Warriors coach Adam Bennett said. “We did a good job getting to the line. … It was a complete team effort for us tonight.”
Leading the way for the Warriors (5-3, 1-0) was Lucus Brown, who scored 31 points, while teammate Maddox Isaac added 12. As a team, Salamanca connected on 19 of 23 free-throw attempts.
The Huskies (2-6, 0-1) were led by Caedyn Tingley with 14 points, and Sullivan Hoffman and Dwayne Motley with 12 apiece.

FREDONIA WINS IN OT
ALLEGANY — RJ Koopman hit a 3-pointer and Davion White made another bucket in overtime to lead Fredonia past Allegany-Limestone 73-68 in Division 1 West play.
The Gators’ Carson Kwiatkowski tied the game with a basket at the end of regulation before the Hillbillies put the game away in overtime. Mike Hahn and Koopman each hit a pair of free throws to seal the game in the extra session.
Hahn, Jameson Quinn and Ashton Putney each had 15 points to lead five players in double figures for Fredonia (6-3, 1-0). White added 14 points and Koopman chipped in 13.
Kwiatkowski led Allegany-Limestone with 23 points and Michael Frederick had 17.
The Gators led by a point after the first quarter and 35-27 at halftime before building a double-digit lead in the third quarter.
“Our league is tough. I have so much respect for Allegany-Limestone. What Coach (Glenn) Anderson does and has accomplished is right up there with anybody else,” Fredonia head coach Nick Bertrando said. “It’s definitely nice to open up (league play) with a win. I told the guys I’m proud through all the different ebbs and flows that we stayed the course. Ultimately that was a team win because we had to fight back, get those stops and convert. That’s why we get after it every single day.”

Gregory Orcutt scored 26 points to lead Dunkirk past Southwestern 53-51 in Division 1 West action.
K’Vion Tell added 10 points for the Marauders (2-3, 1-0), who trailed 14-8 after the first quarter, but led 24-22 at halftime. Dunkirk’s lead grew to 44-37 at the end of three quarters.
Declan Kennedy led the Trojans (2-5, 0-1) with 12 points and nine rebounds; Sam Arrington had 11 points and five assists; Jaydon Work had 7 points and eight rebounds; and Brody Larson had nine rebounds and four steals.

That duo combined for 14 points in the first quarter when the Eagles (4-3, 2-0) opened up a 16-0 lead and never trailed the rest of the way.
Brennan Klossner grabbed 15 rebounds, Henry had six and Jacobson collected five. Trent Houser dished out five assists.
For the Bulldogs (1-5, 4-4), Michael Garcia poured in a game-high 27 points and Jeremy Weisner added 17.
