BUFFALO — Silver Creek High School graduate Zed Williams knows a thing or two about taking it to the next level in big games.

Since going professional in lacrosse, Williams has won the championship in every league he has played in, but tonight he will get an opportunity to win the National Lacrosse League for a second time. Williams and the defending champion Colorado Mammoth will look to continue their dominance of the NLL postseason in Game 3 against the top-seed Buffalo Bandits at 7:30 p.m. at KeyBank Center.

Unlike the first two games, tonight’s contest will be aired on ESPN+. However, just like Game 1, the contest could be flexed to a national broadcast.

Whether Williams is being shown on ESPN+, ESPN2, NBC or not even being recorded at all, he still shows up ready to play. Last year, Williams scored four goals, including the decisive tally, to put the Mammoth on top of Buffalo for the NLL championship.

If Game 2’s dominant victory was any indication of how tonight might play out, then Williams could be adding another trophy to his collection.

In recent history, Colorado has had Buffalo’s number, with this year’s final eerily playing out just like last season’s.

But, top-seeded Buffalo can look back to 2008 when it was also the top seed in the playoffs and claimed the city’s last title against the low-seeded Portland LumberJax.

Buffalo’s player to look out for continues to be Dhane Smith, who is just two points away from surpassing Eli McLaughlin’s record for points in a single postseason that was set last year.

With its offense healthy and rolling on all cylinders, Colorado will look to stay perfect in win-or-go-home playoff games over the past two seasons with a 7-0 record. ——
