Pannes, Hayes Lead Trojans Past Cardinals

RANDOLPH — Matt Pannes and Paul Hayes combined for 42 points as Southwestern beat Randolph 55-37 in nonleague boys basketball Tuesday.

Hayes scored a career-high 21 points, including 6-for-11 shooting on 3-pointers, to go along with three rebounds and two steals, while Pannes had 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Trojans (7-6, 2-2 CCAA D1 West).

Southwestern led 17-8 after the first quarter, but scored just 3 points in the second quarter and led by one at halftime. Hayes hit a pair of 3-pointers, while Connor Young and Griffin Bogdanowicz each knocked down a triple of their own during an 18-7 third quarter in favor of the Trojans.

Jaiden Huntington led the Cardinals (11-3, 7-0 CCAA D1 East) with 12 points and six rebounds.

FALCONER RUNS AWAY FROM HORNETS

FORESTVILLE — Falconer shut down Forestville in the second half to earn the 55-43 nonleague victory.

Mathis Baehr paced the Golden Falcons (8-3, 3-2 CCAA East 1) with 23 points, seven steals, five rebounds and a block, Jase Smith added 13 points, six rebounds and six steals, Rodger Markham had six steals, five rebounds and four assists and Dom Delaney added seven rebounds.

Forestville’s (3-10, 1-3 CCAA East 2) effort was led by Brayden Smith with 19 points, five rebounds and three blocks, Adam Pokoj had 10 rebounds, Maxwell Vigue grabbed seven boards and dished five assists while Garrison Hemphill added seven rebounds.
