CASSADAGA — The third annual CassadagaMan was held over the weekend. Triathletes from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, Oregon and Canada competed.

The race consists of a 1.2-mile swim around the perimeter of Lower Lake and a challenging, hilly 56-mile bike ride followed by a 13.1-mile run. The competitors were assisted along the way by over 50 volunteers kayaking, manning aid stations, handing out finisher medals and so much more.

There were nine relay teams that finished, breaking up the grueling day into much more manageable pieces to get across the finish line. Others competed in the AquaBike race, where only the swim and bike legs of the race are completed; still an incredible feat of athleticism, grit and determination designed to give those that can no longer run, for a variety of reasons, the chance to challenge themselves with a multi-sport race.

The overall winner was Joseph Rogalski from Buffalo with an impressive time of 5:13:08. Dana Miller of McKean, Pennsylvania came in at 5:58:43 to lead the women. The relay team of CanAm broke the course relay team record with a 5:05:09 finish and Matt Fuller of Falconer completed the AquaBike first with a time of 3:30:24.

All finisher results can be found on the website, www.CoachMarkWilson.com.

Many national and local sponsors contributed to the day, providing the athletes with a fun, fully supported race with generous goodie bags, race swag, prizes, a full on-site prepared meal by Super Duper Catering and the crowd favorite STBC Beer Garden.

This race, along with 20 other events in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties as well as around the state and one in Connecticut, is produced by Wilson Endurance Sports, based out of Cassadaga. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to support the renovations of the bathhouse at the Cassadaga Beach.
