Trio Takes Part In IBO Triple Crown

NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Three local men took part in the International Bowhunting Organization’s third leg of its National Championship Triple Crown recently at Hocking College.

Shooting in the Masters Class 60-70 age group, Craig Acklin took second in Nelsonville. Over the three legs of the Triple Crown — at Pipestem State Park in Pipestem, West Virginia; and in Franklin, Pennsylvania; Acklin finished 20th, sixth and second for a sixth-place overall finish.

Also shooting in the Masters Class 60-70 age group, Bill Kiendl finished fifth in Nelsonville. Over his three legs of the Triple Crown, Kiendl finished ninth, sixth and fifth for a fifth-place overall finish.

Bill Petransky, shooting in the Masters Class 70-and-over age group, took first in Nelsonville. Over the three legs of the Triple Crown, Petransky finished second, third and first to place second overall.

East Coast archers, including Acklin, Kiendl and Petransky, will take place in the Rinehart/IBO World Championship on Aug. 11-14 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.

Petransky already has world championships in the 50-60 age group and 60-70 age group, and is now hoping to complete the trifecta next weekend.
