JCC Rallies, Earns Split Of Doubleheader
BOLIVAR — In a pair of games played at Bolivar-Richburg High School, the Jamestown Community College baseball team rallied from a 9-1 deficit after 3 1/2 innings to post a 13-12 victory and a split of a doubleheader with SUNY Broome CC on Thursday afternoon.
Wyatt Hennessy (Mukowango, Wisconsin/Mukwonago) led the way for the Jayhawks (9-8) with four hits, including a triple and a career-high seven RBIs. Yourdangel Gonzalez added three hits and two RBIs; and Nate Johnson (Lakewood/Southwestern High) had two hits, including a double, to go along with two RBIs.
Kenny Nickson III (Erie, Pa./Erie), one of four pitchers, earned the. Bryce Jackson (Jamestown/Jamestown) was credited with the save.
In the opener, the Jayhawks fell, 8-4.
Gonzalez collected three hits including two doubles, and an RBI to lead the Jayhawks’ offensive attack.
Riley Piazza (Jamestown/Jamestown), Alex Kemery (Youngsville, Pa./Youngsville) and Jackson Yost (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) shared the pitching duties.
