RANDOLPH — Payton Morrison and Kyra Pence combined for 50 points, including 29 in the first half, as Randolph beat Fredonia 66-24 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West action.

Pence finished with 25 points, seven assists, six rebounds and six steals while Morrison had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals (6-2, 1-0).

Randolph led 39-15 at halftime before putting the game away with a 27-9 second half.

Ashlynn Delcamp led the Hillbillies (4-6, 0-1) with 6 points and 10 rebounds.

RED RAIDERS FALL AT LANCASTER

LANCASTER — Ken Ricker didn’t mince words about his respect for the Lancaster girls basketball squad.

“They are as strong a public school team as I have ever seen in Western New York,” the Jamestown coach said after the Red Raiders suffered an 87-37 setback in a Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 game Tuesday night.

Rachel Kemrowski scored 22 points, Kylie Harrington had 19 and Madison Francis chipped in 14 for the Legends, who went on a 31-9 run in the second quarter and never looked back.

“Francis is only a freshman and is able to change shots at one end while leading the break at the other,” Ricker said.

Jamestown was led by Marley Drake’s 12 points, but she was the only Red Raider in double figures.

“We have to continue to work with a quick turnaround and a good West Seneca West team coming in Thursday night,” Ricker said. “While we weren’t competitive tonight, I know we can get there.”

FALCONER — Grace Lundmark had 20 points and six rebounds to lead Falconer past Cassadaga Valley 63-29 in the Central Division opener for both teams.

The Golden Falcons (6-2, 1-0) led 13-2 after the first quarter before putting the game away with a 22-4 third quarter.

Tess Spangenburg had 14 points and six rebounds; Dani Krenzer grabbed nine rebounds to go along with four assists and five steals; and Kamryn Harper had five rebounds in the victory.

Aliyah Hopkins led the Cougars (3-4, 0-1) with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven blocked shots and three steals while Emiley Anderson had 10 points and three steals.

PANTHERS HOLD OFF T’BIRDS

PANAMA — Chautauqua Lake missed a pair of 3-point attempts in the closing seconds and Panama escaped with a 49-46 Division 2 West win.

Mandy Brink led the Panthers (5-3, 1-0) with 21 points and 10 steals to go along with seven rebounds while Lilly Odell had 15 points. Maddie Lisciandro had 10 rebounds, six steals and five assists while Kylie Morgan chipped in five rebounds.

Lily Woodis led the Thunderbirds (1-4, 0-1) with 12 points and Erma Wolcott had 10.

Panama led 19-10 after the first quarter as Odell hit three 3-pointers, but Chautauqua Lake took a 31-28 lead into halftime after Wolcott hit a pair of 3-pointers on her way to 8 points in the second quarter.

The Panthers then won the second half 21-15.
