Red Raiders Upend Fredonia At ‘The Mac’

Jamestown evened its record following 25-19, 25-11, 24-26, 25-12 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West volleyball victory over Fredonia.

Cadance Main paced the Red Raiders (3-3, 3-3) with seven digs and five kills; Alex Melquist collected three kills; and Nicole Carlson added eight digs.

For the Hillbillies (1-7, 1-5), Jordan Lucas had six aces and four kills; Sarah Davis had an ace and five kills; Erin Schrantz had three aces and four kills; and Jae Davis added a pair of aces.

COUGARS PREVAIL

SINCLAIRVILLE — Behind 23 assists and four aces from Allison Wakelee, Cassadaga Valley upended Westfield, 28-26, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16, in a Division 2 West match.

Shyanne Carlstrom chipped in nine kills; Madison Ring added five kills, two aces and two blocks; and Jordan Austin contributed four kills for the Cougars (7-2, 4-2).

Tanleigh Bestine paced the Wolverines (3-4, 2-4) with 21 assists, four aces, three blocks and two kills; Bianca Seger had eight kills and four digs; and Haleigh Dellow collected eight kills, three blocks and five digs.

RED DRAGONS ROLL

Maple Grove improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in Division 2 West following a 25-20, 25-6, 25-12 victory over Brocton.

Emma Foley led the Red Dragons with six kills and two blocks; Eliza Dawes had two kills and four aces; Erin Mansfield chipped in 12 aces and 17 assists; and Rachael King contributed 10 kills.

Savanah Krystofiak had four aces; Julia Miller had two digs and one block; and Cassidy Giappa had one assist and three digs.

BAILEY SHINES FOR PANTHERS

PANAMA — Jo Bailey turned in a fine all-around effort, collecting 10 kills, 10 blocks, four digs and three aces as Panama defeated Clymer/Sherman, 18-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-19 in a Division 2 West match.

Sarah Harvey added seven kills, eight digs and three aces; Mandy Brink three kills, 18 assists, six digs and one ace; Lilly Odell five kills, four aces, eight digs and one ace; Kylie Morgan four blocks and five kills; and Corinne Hovey nine digs and four aces for the Panthers (5-3, 5-1).

Mikala Einink paced Clymer/Sherman (3-5, 1-5) with 19 assists, four blocks and three aces; Karly Honey had seven kills, four blocks and one ace; and Hayden Fisher added seven kills, one block, five digs and one ace.

T’BIRDS WIN AGAIN

FORESTVILLE — Chautauqua Lake won for the fifth time in as many tries as it downed Forestville, 25-10, 25-11, 25-6.

Ava Olson led the way with five kills, 10 assists, four aces and eight digs; Jessica Wierner had four kills and five aces; Mallory Morrison chipped in two kills, 11 assists and one ace, and Jenna Harle had four aces and four digs for the Thunderbirds (5-0, 5-0).

Dakota VanArsdale had three kills, two blocks and four digs; Makayla Press added six assists, five aces and two digs; Alena Thomas chipped in three kills, three blocks and one dig; and Katie Lomonto had one kill, three assists and three aces for the Hornets (1-6, 1-5).
