Portville Beats Ellicottville In East Division Showdown

ELLICOTTVILLE — Portville scored twice in the second half to edge Ellicottville 3-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division girls soccer Monday.

Meghan Lyle scored from Courtney Lyle in the 30th minute for the Panthers (7-1-0, 5-0-0. After halftime, Teagan Kosinski scored in the 11th minute and again in the 13th minute from Olivia Dean.

Mandy Hurlburt scored both goals for the Eagles (3-2-0, 2-1-0), first in the second minute and then in the 58th minute.

Mackenzie Harmon made two saves for Portville and Abby Chudy made eight for Ellicottville.

RANDOLPH — Kyra Pence netted a hat trick as Randolph blanked Franklinville 6-0 in East Division play.

Pence scored from Mattie Evans-Brown in the first minute and from Samantha English in the 13th minute. Aubrey Hogan then scored from Alice Robinson in the 45th minute for the Cardinals (3-4-1, 3-1-0).

After halftime, Pence scored unassisted in the fourth minute before Evans-Brown and Pence hooked up for a pair of goals.

Kendell O’Neill made one save for the shutout.

The Panthers fell to 2-5-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the league.

DANIELS SCORES THREE

Alex Daniels scored all three goals for Maple Grove in a 3-0 shutout of North Collins in the Central Division.

Daniels scored from Madilyn Seastrum in the 29th minute to give the Red Dragons (1-3-1, 1-1-1) a 1-0 halftime lead.

After the break, Daniels tallied from Megan Baer in the 65th minute before scoring her final goal in the 73rd minute.

Kasie Craig made 10 saves in net for Maple Grove.

The Eagles fell to 5-2-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the league.

BEARS BLANK BLACK KNIGHTS

SILVER CREEK — Ashlyn Samuelson scored a goal in each half as Frewsburg blanked Silver Creek/Forestville 5-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division girls soccer Monday.

Alexandra Hultberg opened the scoring from Tyra Clark in the second minute before Ava Jimerson made it 2-0 in the 13th minute from Kaydan Bush. Samuelson tallied her first goal of the game in the 26th minute from Hultberg and Nora Edwards scored from Bush in the 32nd minute.

After halftime, Samuelson scored from Clark in the 76th minute.

Cadence Rodgers made two saves in the shutout for the Bears (5-2-0, 4-0-0).

Cam Karcz made 17 saves for the Black Knights (2-3-0, 1-2-0).
