Jayhawks Sweep Genesee CC

BATAVIA — Playing its first match in nine days due to general illness, Jamestown Community College rolled past Genesee CC, 25-10, 25-12, 25-19, in an NJCAA Region 3 Division III volleyball match Tuesday.

“We did alright,” Jayhawks coach Ashley Lund said. “We erred a lot in the third game with 11 unforced errors, which kept Genesee in the gaame, but overall I thought we played well. … To be back on the court and perform like they did was good to see.”

Leading the way for Jamestown CC was Maddie Johnson with two aces, 27 assists, two kills and eight digs; Megan Cotter with two aces, 11 kills and three digs; Claire Pumford with two aces, eight kills and 11 digs; and Emma McCarthy with one ace, five kills, 14 digs and one block.
