Falconer/Cassadaga Valley Edges Jamestown
The Falconer/Cassadaga Valley Golden Cougars defeated the Jamestown Red Raiders 2-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer action at Strider Field on Wednesday.
Kayla Lynn and Tess Spangenburg each had a goal and an assist for the Golden Cougars (1-2-0, 1-1-0).
Karryne Mims was the lone scorer for the Red Raiders. Morgan Maloney had a strong effort in goal with 11 saves for Jamestown (2-3-0, 0-1-0).
BOUVIER POWERS BLACK KNIGHTS
SILVER CREEK — Jade Bouvier scored twice and Abby Rice had two assists as Silver Creek beat Westfield/Brocton 3-1 in the Central Division.
Rachael Beadle scored from Rice in the 36th minute as the Black Knights (2-1-0, 1-0-0) took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Bouvier then scored from Rice in the 54th minute before adding another goal in the 79th minute.
Cam Karcz made five saves in net for Silver Creek/Forestville.
The Wolverines fell to 0-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the league.
T’WOLVES BLANK PANTHERS
CATTARAUGUS — Four different goal scorers sent Cattaraugus-Little Valley to a 4-0 shutout of Pine Valley/Gowanda in East Division action.
In the fifth minute, Amelie Metzger tallied from Kora Sentz for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Alex Minnekine scored from Metzger to give the Timberwolves (1-4-1, 1-2-1) a 2-0 lead. Olivia Seiflein and Evelyn Janora added late goals for the winners.
Sydney Dahl made six saves for the Panthers (0-4-1, 0-2-1) and Onalee Osgood made eight saves for Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
T’BIRDS TIE RED DRAGONS
MAYVILLE — Savannah Horvath scored in the 15th minute for Chautauqua Lake, but Maple Grove answered with a second-half goal as the teams played to a 1-1 Central Division tie.
Erma Wolcott made 15 saves in net for the Thunderbirds (1-1-2, 0-0-1).
The tie made the Red Dragons 0-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the league.
