Cross, Hustead Fire 83s On Senior Tour
FORESTVILLE — Both playing out of the Gold A Flight, Bill Cross and Don Hustead shared the low-gross honors with an 83 in the Asquith Senior Golf Tour at Tri-County Country Club on Monday.
Other gross scores were Dale Melquist and Randy Walker 87 in the White A Flight; Ray Brown with an 88 in the White B Flight; Ed Johnson with an 87 in the Gold B Flight; Brian Shannon with an 89 in the Gold C Flight; and Clyde Mohl with a 104 in the Gold D Flight.
Following are first- through-third place finishers in each flight, using the Modified Stableford scoring system: White A Flight, Jud Foy minus 4, Melquist minus 5 and Sam Allesi, minus 6; White B Flight, Brown plus 6, Craig Underwood plus 5 and Scott Vogan and Marty Burroughs, plus 2; Gold A Flight, Hustead, plus 8, Cross plus 5 and Joe Corbran plus 1; Gold B Flight, Rich Barkstrom plus 3, Bruce Carlson zero and Johnson zero; Gold C Flight; Jim Phillips plus 5, Rick Tyler plus 5 and Larry Eidens 0; and Gold D Flight, Mohl plus 5, Gary Wilson plus 2 and Jim Wirges minus 1.
Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Joe Palermo (No. 3) and Russ Vacanti (No. 11).
The Tour resumes at 9 a.m. next Monday at South Hills Country Club.
