Genareo, Beaver Set The Pace

Sofia Genareo scored 11 of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter to help propel Southwestern past Maple Grove in a Division 1 West basketball game Saturday.

Genareo also hauled down 17 rebounds; Reece Beaver scored 15 points to go along with her six steals and three rebounds; and Allison Lundmark was credited with four boards for the Trojans, who led 18-4 after the first quarter and 29-8 at the break.

Megan Fisher led the Red Dragons with 8 points; Erin Mansfield had 7 points and five steals; and Madison Price collected 6 points and six rebounds.

MARAUDERS FALL TO GATORS

DUNKIRK — Devin Ralston scored 14 points to lead three players in double figures as Allegany-Limestone knocked off Dunkirk, 54-36, in a Division 1 West game.

Maddie Callen added 12 points and Jenna Louser chipped in 11 for the Gators, who led 32-19 at halftime and 44-28 after three quarters.

Octavia Porter paced the Marauders (0-6) with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

T’BIRDS HAVE FAST START

FREDONIA — Chautauqua Lake erupted for 29 first-quarter points on its way to a 76-27 CCAA Division 1 West victory over Fredonia.

Lily Woodis paced the Thunderbirds with 19 points and 12 rebounds, Alexis Jacobson had 17 points and 11 assists, and Kira Erickson contributed 14 points. Chautauqua Lake led 46-14 at intermission and breezed the rest of the way.

Maddy Marsh led the Hillbillies with 9 points.

SILVER CREEK PREVAILS

NORTH COLLINS — Abby Rice scored 19 points and Malani Eldridge added 11 to lead Silver Creek to a 44-21 nonleague victory over North Collins.

Rice also grabbed six rebounds, and had six assists, three blocks and three steals. Eldridge was credited with five steals; and Jade Bouvier added 6 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
