Fredonia Girls Post Soccer Win Over Falconer/CV

FALCONER — Fredonia (6-3-2) was a 4-2 winner over Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (5-8) at Bill Race Field in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus West Division girls soccer on Tuesday.

The Golden Cougars got on the board first when Kayla Lynn finished off a corner kick, but the Hillbillies would roar back with four unanswered goals.

Ava Rukavina took advantage of a misplayed ball, feeding Annie Gondek for an easy finish with eight minutes to play in the first half to make it 1-1.

That was followed by goals from Sofia Russo, Sophia Gullo and Francesca Pucci to secure the win for Fredonia.

Lila Cameron, Russo and Emily Timmerman would finish with assists, and Ali Davis would tally the final goal for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley.

Kinnan Finnegan made eight saves in the win and Grace Lundmark stopped 11 shots for the Golden Cougars.

T’BIRDS PREVAIL

SILVER CREEK — Chautauqua Lake (6-2-1) was a 3-1 winner over Silver Creek (1-8-1) in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central division play. Mercedez Obert collected a pair of goals for the winners, tallying in the 22nd minute off a pass by Emma Lindsey and adding another midway through the second half from Isabella Gilmore.

Emma Lindsey added the final goal for the Thunderbirds on a penalty kick and Hailey Roush had five saves.

Alana Beadle made four saves for Silver Creek, and Jade Bouvier broke the shutout with a penalty kick.

HURLBURT KEEPS

EAGLES UNDEFEATED

ELLICOTTVILLE — Mandy Hurlburt had a hat trick, leading Ellicottville (13-0) to a 4-0 win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-9) in CCAA East play.

Hurlburt tallied from Jocelyn Wyatt in the 12th minute, unassisted in the 15th, and unassisted 18 minutes into the second half while Brooke Butler found the back of the net from Alysa Williams with six minutes left in the first half.

Onalee Osgood made 19 saves for the Timberwolves.

SALAMANCA WINS IN OVERTIME

SALAMANCA — Ryleigh John was the hero for Salamanca (6-3) on Tuesday, finishing off a pass from Hayli Wilson in the fifth minute of overtime to lead the Warriors to a 1-0 win over host Pine Valley (3-8).

Makenzie Oakes made one save in the win.

PORTVILLE POSTS SHUTOUT

FRANKLINVILLE — Portville was a 3-0 winner over Franklinville.

Mia Welty, Mallory Welty and Teagan Kosinksi all scored in the win, with Kendall Artlip and Mia Welty adding assists.

Faith Capito had four saves in the win and Sarah Courtney made 11 saves for Franklinville.

WESTFIELD PREVAILS

WESTFIELD–Host Westfield (6-3-1) was a 4-1 winner over North Collins (0-11) in CCAA Central play.

BEARS BLANK DRAGONS

FREWSBURG–Host Frewsburg (12-0) topped Maple Grove (4-4-1), 4-0, behind a pair of goals from Kendal Sohl.

Tyra Clark and Samantha Annis also found the back of the net for the Bears, with Raena Bird and Ava Hultberg chipping in assists.

Madison Voty stopped five shots in the shutout.

OLEAN SHUTS OUT GATORS

OLEAN–Olean (9-1-1) was a 3-0 winner over Allegany-Limestone (4-7-2).

Alexis Gibbons scored a pair of goals and Rylie Gumtow tallied on an assist by Allie Stayer.

Emma Edwards made six saves in the win.

BOYS

RAIDERS FALL TO OLEAN

Olean (3-6-1, 3-5-1) posted a 6-2 win over Jamestown (1-9, 0-9) in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division play.

Joe Magro had three goals and an assist in the win, while Thomas Bates, Quintin Allen and Al Linderman each had single tallies.

Allen, Mark Brown, Andre Frantecangelo, Stephen Hoffman and Ellison Ash-West picked up assists for the Huskies.

SALAMANCA/C-LV WINS

SALAMANCA — Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (1-6, 1-5) topped Pine Valley/Gowanda (1-9, 1-6), 3-2.

Joseph Quigley, Neland Cummings and Kodi Colton scored for the winners with Hunter Yaworsky and Cummings picking up assists.
