Celebrating The Browns

In photo above, Cleveland Browns tight end and Jamestown native Stephen Carlson, right, paid a visit to the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon where he signed a No. 89 Browns jersey, which will be framed for permanent display at the Hall on West Third Street in Jamestown. Among those who enjoyed spending time with the second-year tight end was CSHOF board member Chip Johnson, left; his grandson, Max Miley, and Max’s parents, Katie and Billy. Later that evening, a sellout crowd of 150 people turned out for the Cleveland Browns Backers of Jamestown after-season dinner where it heard from Carlson and two former Browns players, Dave Graf and George Lilja; and witnessed the presentation of the first John Miraglia Browns Backers of Jamestown Member of the Year Award in honor of Miraglia, who was the first president of the Backers of Jamestown. In photo at right, current Backers president Paul Lombardo presents the Miraglia Member of the Year Award to Kim Touhey. In photo below, from the left, are Graf, Lombardo, Carlson and Lilja. Graf, a former linebacker with the Browns (1975-79), is a graduate of Dunkirk High School and Penn State University; Carlson is a 2015 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 2019 graduate of Princeton University; and Lilja, a former offensive lineman with the Browns (1984-86), is a University of Michigan graduate and a Warren, Pa. resident.
