ROCHESTER — Cold-shooting Jamestown Community College suffered a 101-57 loss to Monroe CC in an NJCAA Region 3 Division II men’s basketball game Wednesday night.

The Jayhawks (8-15, 1-8), who were just 19 of 70 from the field (27%), were led offensively by Jordan Thomas with 25 points while Sheick Kourmora added 20 points. On the glass, Donathan Daniels had eight rebounds and Thomas added five.

The Tribunes’ lead was just 43-35 at halftime, but they outscored the Jayhawks 58-22 after the break to cruise to the victory.

While Jamestown CC struggled from the field, Monroe CC went 38-for-78 (48.7 percent), including 12-for-25 (48 percent) from beyond the arc. The Tribunes also won the battle on the boards, 58-38, and found success in the paint, outscoring the Jayhawks, 44-20.

Jamestown CC will close out the regular season Saturday at home when they take on Genesee CC at 3 p.m. on Sophomore Day.
