Niagara County CC Has Little Trouble With Jayhawks

SANBORN — Niagara County Community College flexed its muscle Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 14 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll, had five players score in double figures en route to an 84-43 Region 3 win over Jamestown Community College.

Cierra Harrison and Paige Emborsky led Niagara County CC with 15 points apiece while Aliana Forbes had 13 points. Molly Mahony chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds; Aubrey Halloran had 10 points; and Nickelle O’Neil had 10 assists.

Kayla Hohl led the Jayhawks (8-9, 1-1) with 9 points while Linnea Jimerson grabbed eight rebounds.

The Thunderwolves (21-1, 2-0) led 19-12 after the first quarter and 39-20 after two quarters before a 34-13 third quarter put the game away.

Jamestown CC returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Mercyhurst North East at the Physical Education Complex.
