Jamestown Boys, Dunkirk Girls Clinch D1 Titles

Colton Cappalino fired a 257-231-667 to lead Jamestown to a 4-0 sweep of Southwestern and the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 boys bowling championship Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company.

Riley Piazza added a 269-203-653, Kyle Christensen had a 209-235-628 and Zach Ryberg turned in a 214-567 for the Red Raiders (35-5), who had a team linescore of 1,072-1,041-891-3,004.

Alex Nelson led the Trojans (13-27) with a 219-576 as they rolled a team linescore of 766-742-806-2,314.

DUNKIRK GIRLS WRAP UP TITLE

FREDONIA — Dunkirk completed a perfect Division 1 girls bowling season with a 4-0 sweep of Fredonia on Wednesday at Lucky Lanes.

The Marauders (32-0) won their fourth straight league title and are now 149-3 over the past four seasons.

Rachel Glowniak tied the high game of the year for the league with a 278 in between a 225 and a 239 for a 742 series to set a season record. Both scores were also school records.

Dunkirk finished with a 995-1,046-871-2,911 with the 1,046 and 2,911 setting CCAA records. Makayla Pasierb had a 222-237-618; Olivia Corbett a 198-213-192-603; and Isabella Begier a 194 game.

The Hillbillies (15-17) finished with a 730-717-659-2,106. Savannah Salim had a 183 game.

In boys action, Fredonia beat Dunkirk, 3-1, setting a new school record with an 1,140 in the second game.

The Hillbillies (32-8) finished with a 1,030-1,140-898-3,068. Jacob Marsh had a 204-245-203-652, Mike Dispense rolled a 236-246-651, Jacob Patterson had a 239-205-618, Rocke Swartz had a 204 game and Jacob Cerrie rolled a 256 game.

The Marauders (19-21) countered with an 802-844-935-2,581. Trevor Skelly spilled a 217-233-206-656 and Robert Kozlowski rolled a 222 game.

FREWSBURG GIRLS WIN

Wyatt Adams sparkled with a 234-223-195-663 to lead Randolph to a 3-1 Division 2 boys win over Frewsburg at JBC.

Noah Barber had a 224-191-584 and Kameron Finch added a 203 game for the Cardinals (36-8), who finished with a team linescore of 931-928-806-2,665.

Noah Phillips led the Bears (27-9) with a 212-194-194-600, Matt Thompson had a 198 game and Brendan Randall had a 216 game in a team linescore of 858-745-960-2,563.

In the girls matchup, Jocelyn Estabrook and Katelyn Bean each had 179 games to lift Frewsburg to a 3-1 win.

The Bears (20-12) finished with a linescore of 524-536-584-1,644.

Alexa Gozdalski’s 175 game was the highlight for the Cardinals (22-18) in a 523-551-501-1,575.
