FREWSBURG — Brad Nelson poured in 31 points and Aaron Hair added 17 to lead Frewsburg (2-0) to a 64-44 win over Portville (2-1) on Tuesday.

The Bears got out to a slow start, but were able to rally their offense as the game wore on.

Peyton Hayes had 11 rebounds in the win.

Dalton Tobola led Portville with 22 points, five steals and three assists while Zayne Tarr added 8 points and nine rebounds.

SINCLAIRVILLE — Fredonia (2-2) was a 60-34 winner over Cassadaga Valley (3-2) in nonleague girls basketball action.

Anna Buchanan led the winners with 17 points and 14 rebounds; Kazlin Beers had 11 points, nine rebounds and nine steals, while Nagely Vazquez added 14 points.

Bella Ruiz led the Lady Cougars with 12 points; Kaylee Pattyson had nine rebounds and six blocks; while Meghan LeBaron added four rebounds and four assists.

SALAMANCA — Gowanda was a 41-30 winner over Salamanca (0-4) in nonleague play.

Jaeden Hubbard led the Warriors with eight points and 11 rebounds, while Marla Warrior and Kylee Dowdy each had seven.

Miya Scanlon had 23 points to lead Gowanda and scored her 1,000 career point.
