First-Place Titans Hand Rebels Fourth Straight Loss

The Jamestown Rebels dropped their fourth straight North American Hockey League East Division game, 5-2, to the New Jersey Titans on Friday evening at Northwest Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for six goals in the second.

Matt Cameron opened the scoring with his 12th of the season for New Jersey (23-5-0-1) before Jamestown’s Nick Siffringer tied the game with his fourth goal of the season from Eric Olson and Spencer Cosway.

The Titans then took a 3-1 lead with the next two goals as Gavin Gulash scored his fourth of the season from Kyle Jeffers and Chris Garbe on the power play, and Michael Outzen added his 10th of the season unassisted on the power play.

Renars Karkls got the Rebels (11-19-1-2) back within a goal with his third goal of the season from Zach Brydges and Liam Hansson, but the Titans got their two-goal lead back as Outzen scored his 11th of the season from Cam Gendron and Mitch Machlitt.

The third period remained scoreless until Garbe scored his 10th of the season into an empty net with 57 seconds remaining.

Noah West made 21 saves on 25 shots for Jamestown while Patrick Pugliese stopped 23 of 25 shots he faced for New Jersey.

Jamestown also lost 2-0 on Wednesday to the Johnstown Tomahawks.

The Rebels and Titans will meet again this evening at Northwest Arena.
