SHERMAN — Jessica Beehler scored 17 points and dished out 14 assists to propel Dunkirk to an 81-61 nonleague basketball victory over Sherman on Thursday night.

The Lady Marauders, behind a 27-7 first quarter, led 45-24 at intermission and maintained that advantage the rest of the way.

“They’re a very well-coached team,” Dunkirk coach Ken Ricker said. “The difference is we made shots early and it took a while for them to play at the speed we were playing.”

Dunkirk, which connected on 13 3-pointers, was led by Nadara Odell with 19 points, Kym Nance with 15 and Ana Rodriguez with 13. Amari Carter grabbed 10 rebounds.

MacKenzie Gratto paced the Lady Wildcats (2-1) with 16 points and 15 rebounds, Amaya Lewczyk had 16 points and 11 boards, Jenna Fisher had 6 points and eight rebounds, and Maggie Myers added 5 points and eight assists.
