Baglia, Johnson Take First At Jarvis Memorial
ATHENS, Pa. — Bryce Baglia and Hudson Johnson were crowned champions as Falconer/Cassadaga Valley competed in the Jarvis Memorial Tournament over the weekend.
Baglia won the 152-pound title with a 9-2 decision of Wilkes-Barre’s Jamie Pahler in the championship match. Baglia also pinned Belmont Charter’s Taalib Copeland in 1:42 and Scranton’s Mariano Monacelli in 1:42.
Johnson pinned Wilkes-Barre’s Carl Johnson in 1:32 for the title after pinning Johnson City’s Zachary Kmieciak in 1:32.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Collin Beichner took second at 220 pounds after a 17-6 loss to Wilson Area’s Colby Frank in the final.
The Golden Cougars’ Collin Mower also took second at 285 pounds with a 3-0 loss to Wilson Area’s Rodger Russell in the final.
At 132 pounds, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Joey Pillittieri took third place. Pillittieri had a pin in 2:20 over Scranton’s Yovan Aroche and a 15-0 technical fall over Johnson City’s Patrick Zara along with a 10-8 loss to Wilkes-Barre’s Nino Cinti.
Hunter Teboe took fourth at 138 pounds with a 7-3 loss to Belmont Charter’s Jayshawk Copeland. Teboe also had a pin of Wilkes-Barre’s Matthew Chase in 4:42 and a 15-0 technical fall over West Scranton’s Joseph Harris.
Austin Chase took fifth at 113 pounds, Bryant Morrison took fifth at 145 pounds and Connor Stein was sixth at 170 pounds.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley finished third in the team standings with 127 points. West Scranton was first with 139.5 and Wilson Area was second with 131. Wilkes-Barre was fourth with 111 and Athens was fifth with 96.5
