Rebels Post Shootout Victory Over Johnstown On Saturday Night

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The Jamestown Rebels earned a split of their weekend North American Hockey League games at 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial on Saturday, downing Johnstown, 6-5, in a shootout.

The Rebels, who lost to the Tomahawks, 6-1, on Friday, led 5-3 after two periods on Saturday, saw Johnstown tie it with a pair of goals in the third period and then held a 3-2 edge in the shootout to improve their record to 6-13-0-2. The Tomahawks dropped to 12-6-2-2.

Eric Olson collected two goals, Tyler German had a goal and an assist, Jake Buerger and Noah Finstrom both had two assists, while Nate Clark and Liam Hansson both had a helper to lead the offensive attack for the Rebels.

Noah Basarab had two goals, and Christian Gorscak, Sean Bauchens and Carson Gallagher all had one for the Tomahawks. Bennett Stockdale dished out three assists, Adam Kolcon had two, and Chris Trouba, Colin Price and Jesse Lycan each had one.

Jon Howe was in net for Jamestown, stopping 30 shots. David Tomeo and Alex Tracy combined to make 31 saves for Johnstown.

The Rebels will be back in action this Friday and Saturday when they entertain the Northeast Generals at Northwest Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both days.
