The Westside Panthers traveled across town to challenge the Northside Warriors last Saturday.

The Panther Varsity team remained undefeated with a 22-6 victory over the Warriors.

Quarterback Dominic Gonzalez guided the team to victory with 105 yards passing and 100 yards rushing. He connected with Ayden Samuelson for an 18-yard touchdown pass and Chase Lombardo for a two-point conversion pass. Reggie Thomas had two catches for 40 yards. Nazayah Figuerdo completed two passes to Gonzales and Jericho Thagard. Luis Valiente ran for 15 yards on three carries.

The varsity defensive attack was spearheaded by Eligh Deleone and Nazayah Figuerdo who had six tackles a piece. Dominic Gonzalez had five tackles and a sack. Markie Mescall, Nick Elardo and Cole Anderson each had three tackles.

The junior varsity Panthers earned an impressive 41-6 victory with dominant performances on both sides of the ball.

The junior varsity offensive line cleared the way for Connor Campion to score a pair of touchdowns and run for 89 yards total. Alaric Richards rumbled for 40 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown. Noah Gonzalez ran for 24 yards and threw a pair of two-point conversions to Campion and Blake Swanson. Cole Meabon chipped in 39 yards on the ground and Kenton Knight added 34 yards. Swanson scored on 54-yard TD run. He led all runners with 96 yards rushing.

The junior varsity defense saw Blake Swanson score on interception returns of 19 and 25 yards. Drew Bloomquist had four tackles plus a sack. Connor Campion notched seven tackles. Tre Yates added four stops as well.

The Westside Modified Team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 24-12 victory over the Warriors.

The defense had three interceptions. Cole Bloomquist got things started when he ended a Warriors’ drive with a timely interception then Connor Bush grabbed his second pick of the year, and Tyrese Wofford closed the door on the opponents with an interception and 20-yard return. Aiden Senear had five tackles as did Isaiah Sanchez, Tyerell Reese, and Wofford. Carsen Bane had four stops. Tommy Pratton had three tackles, a fumble recovery and blocked a punt.

The offensive line plowed running lanes for Tyrell Reese, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns; Isaiah Sanchez, who gained 67 yards and scored a TD; and Carsen Bane, who rumbled for 39 yards and a score. Caleb Piazza caught a pass for 11 yards from Mike Patric. Piazza then returned the favor by tossing an 11-yard pass to Patric.

The Panthers host the Fredonia Hillbillies today at Persell School to finish the season.
