Knights’ Big Third Period Sinks Rebels

The Jamestown Rebels scored the opening goal, but three third-period goals were their undoing in a 4-1 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights in NAHL East Division action Saturday evening at Northwest Arena.

Nick Siffringer opened the scoring with his first goal of the season for the Rebels (1-6-0-2) off assists from Noah Finstrom and Jordan Cormier, but the was all the offense Jamestown could muster.

The Knights (6-4-0-0) tied the game in the second period as Zak Currie scored his third of the season from Liam Haslam.

Johnny Kaljian gave Wilkes-Barre/Scranton the lead for good with his third of the season at 7:27 of the third period from Spencer King and Lincoln Hatten. Sutton McDonald made it 3-1 from Trevor Scherer six minutes later before Haslman added an empty-net goal from Tyrone Bronte and Hatten.

Noah West made 39 saves in net for Jamestown while Zach Stejskal made 23 saves for the Knights.

The Rebels return to action next weekend with their first trip to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee to take on the Maine Nordiques for a three-game series.
