JCC Men’s Soccer Team Earns No. 6 Seed

The Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team will head into the NJCAA Region III Tournament as the No. 6 seed.

The Jayhawks (10-4-3, 1-1-1 WNYAC) will host Erie Community College on Tuesday in the sub regional on the campus of JCC at 3 p.m.

The two teams met a month ago where JCC came out on top, 3-1. The Jayhawks scored three unanswered goals. Harry Ward, Luuk Willemsen and Jesse Da Costa all had a goal on the day. Michael Broughton, Ward and Willemsen all had an assist on the day.

Jakob Moore went the distance in net, making eight saves on nine shots faced.

JCC have last played a regular season game on October 16th where they defeated Niagara County Community College by a score of 4-1. The Jayhawks have had two friendlies since, playing against NCAA Division II Gannon University and Robert Wesleyan College. JCC fell to Gannon 3-2 in a lightning shortened match. JCC did get redemption against Roberts Wesleyan, winning in a convincing fashion, 3-1.

The Jayhawks have played a tough schedule thus far, playing against four teams that have been ranked in the top-10 and will look to take that experience into the postseason.
