Ellicottville To Play Host To Road Races Oct. 26

ELLICOTTVILLE — On Saturday, Oct. 26, the village of Ellicottville will be filled with smiling faces in costumes and running shoes as the EVL Halloween Half Marathon and 5k will enter its third year. Both the half marathon (11 a.m. start) and the 5K (11:15 a.m. start) begin and end in the heart of town at 5 Monroe St.

In its sixth year, the EVL Half & 5k has grown to be one of the largest races in Western New York. For 2019, 2,000 runners, and equal number of spectators, are expected for the event. Entries still available for both the half marathon & 5k, but will sell out before race day.

All participants receive custom-designed medals, as well as men’s and women’s shirts. Not to mention many Ellicottville merchants offer great discounts that weekend for runners which athletes will receive in the race packet. An after-part featuring Ellicottville Brewing Company craft beer and many giveaway prizes from businesses around Ellicottville will also be part of the festivities. In addition, the event features a costume contest for runners with awards provided by Watson’s Chocolates for best group, best individual, funniest, scariest, most girly, best kid and best in show.
