Rebels Open Season With Loss At NAHL Showcase

BLAINE, Min. — The Jamestown Rebels opened their season at the North American Hockey League Showcase on Wednesday against the Austin Bruins.

Devon Fields recorded the only goal of the night, unassisted at 16:04 of the first period, to lift Austin to a 1-0 win.

Noah West made 32 saves for the Rebels while Jaxon Friedman stopped 20 shots in the shutout.

The Rebels went 0-for-1 on the power play and took five penalties.

They will now look to get their first win of the season with a matchup against the Minnesota Magicians at 5 p.m. today.
