JCC Men’s Soccer Team Posts Two More Shutouts

The Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team continued its stellar play over the weekend with two more shutouts.

On Saturday, the Jayhawks knocked off Corning CC, 4-0, on Saturday and followed that up with a 13-0 win over Lorain (Ohio) CC on Sunday.

The victories improved their record to 5-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in Region 3 Division III.

Against Corning, Jamestown CC led 1-0 at halftime, courtesy of a goal by Nick Brown, assisted by Dan Mattock, 25 minutes into the game, and then tallied three times after the break. The goal scorers in the second half were Kean Thomas (assisted by Luuk Willemsen), Ryan Coch (assisted by Harry Ward) and Mattock (assisted by Jesse DaCosta).

Jakob Moore and Tommy Harrington shared the net-minding duties.

Sunday was even easier for the Jayhawks.

Sparked by four goals from DeCosta — all within seven minutes — and two more by Willemsen, Jamestown CC breezed to another shutout win.

Recording a goal apiece were Tyler West, Ward, Coch, Isaiah Younger, Harry Brodin and Josh Golando. Credited with assists were Coch, Vinicius Rodrigues, Willemsen, Ward, Brown, West and Kanin Tanner.

Moore and Harrington shared the goalkeeping duties and were credited with the shutout. In the last three games, Jamestown CC has outscored its opponents, 23-0.

The Jayhawks look to keep their winning streak alive Wednesday when they entertain Monroe CC at 4 p.m.
