FREWSBURG — A pair of first-half goals led Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley past Frewsburg 2-1 in nonleague boys soccer Friday.

Brien Funke scored on a penalty kick after a hand ball in the 18-yard box in the eighth minute before Reece Redeye-Desposito scored from Darec Funke during a scramble in the box in the 28th minute for the Warriors (4-2-0, 0-1-0 CCAA East).

The Bears (1-4-1, 1-1-0 CCAA Central) made it 2-1 late as Nick Mason scored from Zack Carr.

Jarrett Pond made six saves for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley and Caleb Carr made one save for Frewsburg.

WOLVERINES STAY UNBEATEN

WESTFIELD — A goal in each half helped Westfield/Brocton slip by Chautauqua Lake 2-0 in nonleague play.

Jason Almeter scored an unassisted goal in the third minute before Nathan Culbreth made it 2-0 from Josh Barresi in the 77th minute for the Wolverines (6-0-0, 1-0-0 CCAA Central).

Erik Peterson made 10 saves for the Thunderbirds (2-2-1, 0-0-1).

BLACK KNIGHTS PREVAIL

SINCLAIRVILLE — Silver Creek/Forestville scored twice before halftime and eventually beat Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 3-2 in nonleague action.

Darren Jiminez tallied in the 12th minute and Giovanni Pacifici scored in the 15th minute. After the break, Spencer Harford found the back of the net for the Black Knights (2-3-0, 0-1-0).

The Golden Cougars (1-0-0 CCAA West) fell to 2-3-0 overall.
