Frank Shines As Titans Open Season With Win

FRANKLINVILLE — Franklinville/Ellicottville was able to rack up 296 yards on 31 rushing attempts on the way to a 35-6 win over Allegany-Limestone in Class D action on Friday evening.

Logan Frank ran for 142 yards, scoring on plays from 3 and 7 yards out in the second quarter to give his team a 21-0 lead early.

“It was a great way to get started in the manner that we did,” said Titans head coach Jason Marsh. “Logan is a tough runner, a tough kid to bring down and our offensive line was doing a great job of getting our running backs to the second level.”

Tyler Clear would finish with 128 yards on 11 carries, rushing 89 yards to paydirt at 6:41 of the first quarter to open up the scoring.

Frank would also pick up a touchdown through the air, hitting Nick Logel on a 12-yard throw before halftime.

“A little early on we had some of those first-game jitters. Then, after that the offensive line really got their feet underneath them and were opening up some great holes,” said Marsh.

The Gators would be held to just 25 yards on 15 rushing attempts against the Titans’ defense, earning their lone touchdown at 6:43 of the third quarter when Thomas Calen hit Jayden Gustafson with a 25-yard throw.

Wyatt Chudy would lead the Titans with five tackles on defense, Caleb Ploetz added three tackles and two sacks, while Zack Wolfer also grabbed three tackles and a sack.
