United LM Series Scheduled For Stateline Saturday

BUSTI — The Zimmer’s Service Center United Late Model Series will roll into Stateline Speedway on Saturday for a 30-lap, $3,000-to-win event for the Dave Warren Auto Group Super Late Models. Also on the card will be regular-length features for the Close Racing Supply RUSH Late Models, the E-Mods, Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks, RUSH ProMods, and the Challengers.

Max Blair leads the ULMS points after the event at Bradford by 72 points over Mike Wonderling Jr. Jason Dobson is currently third with Rick Eckert and Jason Covert filling out the top five. Blair has two wins this season with the series. Eckert, and Covert each have one. In Stateline standings, Darrell Bossard leads Blair by 27 points after six weeks of racing. Bossard has not yet scored a victory while Blair won on May 18. Ryan Scott, defending Stateline Super Late Model champion who got his first-ever Super Late Model win June 8, is third, only three points behind Blair. Jake Finnerty is another 92 back, and last week’s winner, Dave Hess Jr. fifth, yet another five points behind Finnerty.

In the RUSH Late Model standings, Blair leads Bossard by four points with Scott Gurdak 29 points back in third. Jason Genco is fourth, another 35 back, and Ward Schell is 33 points behind Genco in fifth.

Randy Hall leads the E-Mod standings with a 16-point advantage over Dennis Lunger. Lunger has two wins while Hall has been shut out of Victory Lane. Last week’s winner, Greg Johnson, is third, 27 behind Lunger, with two-time winner Cale Crocker 25 behind Johnson. Butch Southwell, winless this far in the season, is 14 behind Crocker in fifth.

Former champion Dave Shagla picked up his first win of the season last Saturday and leads the Penn-Ohio Pro Stock standings by 24 over two-time winner John Boardman. June 22nd winner Shane Applebee is third, just three points behind Boardman, with Jason Black fourth, another 18 points back. Opening night winner Jason Covey is 11 behind Black.

Dennis Lunger has won three of the five RUSH Pro-Mod features this season and leads the standings by 58 markers over last week’s winner, Adam Ashcroft. May 25th winner Chad Carlson, a former champion, is currently third, 11 behind Ashcroft. Another 47 back is CJ Irons, with Jarrod Silvis another 74 points behind in fifth.

Consistency has rewarded Rick Feely with the points lead in the Challenger division, albeit only by three points over two-time winner Casey Burch. Tyler Walter is third, 94 points behind Burch, with Holden Heineman another nine points back in fourth and Chris Horton is fifth 24 behind Heineman.

Stateline Speedway has been in continuous operation since 1956 and is currently owned by Jim and Jean Scott and Dave Turner. Racing is presented every Saturday night during the racing season, this year through August 31, plus special events and practices. The 2019 regular season will conclude on Aug. 31 with Champions Night.
