Jackson, Brown Are 2nd-Team All-WNY

A pair of Chautauqua County baseball players have been selected to the All-Western New York second team.

Senior pitchers Bryce Jackson and Ronald “Bubba” Brown — from Jamestown High School and Brocton Central School respectively — highlight the area representatives.

Honorable-mention selections from the Southern Tier include Christian Dolce, Jamestown; Aaron Hair, Frewsburg; Jordan Krystofiak, Brocton; Kyler Majka, Chautauqua Lake; Tanner Olson, Gowanda; Mitchell Pascarella, Southwestern; and Bobby Samuelson and Ben Schrader, Falconer.

Dom Schmidt, a senior pitcher from Kenmore West, was named the Player of the Year. Joining Schmidt on the first team are pitcher Alex Ballett of St. Mary’s; catcher Joe Mack of Williamsville East; infielders Will Carlone of St. Joe’s, Chase Chadkowski of West Seneca West, Brian Fray of Medina and Brian Norsen of Frontier; outfielders Jacob Belote of Williamsville North, Alex Dzimian of St. Francis and Grayson Schaefer of Canisius; and designated hitter Sam Murphy of St. Joe’s.

Joining Jackson and Brown on the second team are catcher Max Schmarder of Olmsted; infielders Charlie Bruning of Roy-Hart, Connor McKendry of St. Joe’s, Jack Migliore of Hamburg and Jack Putney of Clarence; outfielders Dylan Crowley of Hamburg, Zach LaPlante of Kenmore West and Alex Rodriguez of Lackawanna; and designated hitter Conner Hoehman of Williamsville North.

There were 54 honorable-mention selections, including the eight local players.
