Gabby Iuculano was named the Most Valuable Player as Frewsburg won its holiday tournament Dec. 28-29. Iuculano had 26 points, five steals, one rebound and one assist in a 63-50 championship game win over Dunkirk. That performance came one day after scoring 18 points with four assists, three rebounds and a steal in a 65-38 win over Falconer. Iuculano also had 13 points, seven steals, three rebounds and three assists in a 57-33 nonleague win over Allegany-Limestone on Friday.

Zach Fischer had a career-high 38 points to go along with seven rebounds and an assist in Chautauqua Lake’s 90-73 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Division 1 West win over Maple Grove on Friday. On Dec. 27, Fischer had 20 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in an 84-75 nonleague loss to General McLane (Pa.). Fischer also had 13 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals in a 68-59 CCAA Division 1 West loss to Frewsburg at Jamestown High School on Dec. 22.

Cooper Thomas was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.15) to help Frewsburg/Southwestern win the Frederick J. Puff Invitational at Cleveland Hill High School on Saturday. Thomas was also a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:56.77) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.03). On Dec. 28, Thomas won the 200-meter freestyle (2:11.82) and took second in the 400-meter freestyle (4:41.55) while being a member of the second-place 200-meter freestyle relay (1:54.59) and 400-meter freestyle relay (4:10.65) in a 100-86 nonleague victory over Jamestown.

Pasierb’s series helped the Marauders to a team linescore of 888-961-840-2,689. Pasierb also rolled a 145-149-204-498 and a 187-209-183-579 as Dunkirk won the Festival of Lights Tournament on Dec. 27 at Tonawanda Bowling Center.
