Two Third-Period Goals Lift Rebels To 3-1 Win

SCRANTON, Pa. — The Jamestown Rebels made it two straight victories over Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Friday night as they scored a pair of third-period goals to snap a 1-1 tie on their to a 3-1 North American Hockey League victory before 108 fans at the Revolution Ice Centre.

The win improved the Rebels’ record to 11-8-1-1, while the Knights fall to 6-14-1-0.

Noah Finstrom opened the scoring for Jamestown at 4:50 of the first period when he found the back of the net on an assist by Antonio Venuto. The 1-0 lead stood up until early in the third period when Wilkes-Barre Scranton’s Davis Pennington scored from Max Klanow and Jeffrey Bertrand to tie the game.

Rebels’ keeper Ryan Keane, who made 21 saves on the night, wouldn’t allow another goal.

Meanwhile, Jim Glynn, assisted by Alex Frye, and Caleb Price both scored in the final period. Price’s tally was of the empty-net variety at the 19:28 mark.

The Rebels return to action next Friday and Saturday when they entertain the Maryland Black Bears at 7:05 both nights at Northwest Arena.
