The Chautauqua Lake junior varsity volleyball team competed in the Olean Volleybash at St. Bonaventure College recently, losing to Olean 13-25, 21-25 in pool play. Chautauqua Lake topped Forestville and was able to beat Portville, 25-17, 25-20, then beat Allegany-Limestone in the semifinals. In the finals, the Thunderbirds played Olean again and got down 6-12 in the first set, but were able to battle their way back with help from some strong serving by Brynn Engdahl. They won an exciting match, 34-32, 27-25. It was the fifth tournament the Chautauqua Lake jayvees have won this season.
